About BGMS: Bharatiya Grameen Mahila Sangh or BGMS works for the upliftment and empowerment of women and children. The Children who reside in the center at HAL Bangalore are from disadvantaged and poor families, without enough money and support to get a formal education. Boys and girls are provided with good care, food, clothing, medical care and most important is schooling. The branch center runs a school within the premises which is called Shishukunj Vidalaya. The children get high-quality education along with extra-curricular activities. Shishukunj is also looking after the higher education of the pass outs from the school.
Based on a need assessment exercise with the organization, we decided to go for a collection drive among our em[loyees and the residents from our projects for all the material support that the organization needed support for. The collected items were segregated into clothing, footwear, stationery, bedding, mattress covers etc.
In addition to this, we organized a magic show for the children along with many other interesting and fun events. The event concluded with a dinner that our team had with the children. More than fifty people from our organization participated in this evening together with children which is a memorable event for all of us.
70 employees of Sumadhura group volunteered for this activity and we organised a magic show and games for the resident children of the organization. The programme ended with the distribution of the collected items which included stationery, clothes and other usable materials as required by the organization.

Intended Impact:

Joy of sharing resources with less fortunate members of society.
Giving a lease of new life to all the collected materials which otherwise would have ended in landfill.
