India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world but we still have about two-thirds of our population living in poverty. Poverty is a condition in which a person or community lacks the financial resources and essentials for a minimum standard of living.
Sumadhura Foundation would like to contribute towards alleviating poverty among the underprivileged sections of the society by taking up community based interventions. This could be in the form of pension for jobless, old people, widows or distributing household items to the needy.
We hope to help in eradicating hunger, malnutrition, promoting preventive health care. Through our poverty reduction and pro-poor programs we would like to help society move towards equity by sharing what we have with the less fortunate people in the society through our “Joy of Sharing” initiative
Joy of Sharing’ is an initiative that started in Dec 2017 to promote sharing of resources from families who wish to share with those who require those resources, specifically the marginalized sections of society in urban areas.
